Aim of this research
We propose to conduct an academic research project that explores the needs of the Malawian prison system. We intend to look into the needs of the penal system for its development in terms of finances, facilities, policies and other implementations. Therefore the aims of this research are:
- to identify ways to reduce the problem of overpopulation
- to specifically look at the needs of our targetgroup: the population of youngsters
- identify ways to minimize the problems associated with the overpopulation of Malawi’s prisons.
- to identify the concerns voiced by local experts in the field;
- to look for possible ways to generate funds required to implement stuctural sollutions to the issue of prison congestion.
- to help local and international NGO`s with theoretical insights on a practical level
